This is a reprint from another discussion here on the board but it belongs here too; read on!

I wanted to put over the local scene first and foremost here on this board and even going back to the original message board on the Tomb, I always invited local talent to post their upcoming stuff there as well. Do you know that the only person ever to take advantage of that was a guy named Steve Chronic who actually started to get some hits on his site and attendence picked up at shows he was hyping? I'm not saying we were responsible but I am saying it is a bit of a coincidence.

I think the reason most locals don't post is twofold, first they (Brodie excluded) just flat out don't like me and won't post here because of something I said over TWO years ago (which is just silly if you really think about it). And secondly I really think everybody (Brodie INCLUDED) underestimates just how much traffic comes across this board. Now granted we only have somewhere around 30 registered members but the fact is, and Robbie can back me up on this, we get well over a thousand hits a day just on the message board! That's FREE advertisment folks provided by your friends here at www.rikkiregal.com! If I were an active wrestler or promoter or school trainer I'd post here so much you'd all be sick of me!

Anyway the invitation stands for anyone, friend or foe, to post their event schedules, training dates, gimmick sales, websites and whatever else right here, it doesn't cost a dime and certainly can NOT hurt. We are all in this together whether we like each other or not and I will not, nor will I allow anyone else to disrespect anyone who comes here to promote themselves or their Fed!

Now I know I'm a nobody jabroni who probably has more heat than I'll ever be aware of, but I don't know of anybody having heat with Rikki. I've personally love Rikki like a brother and am thankful for advice he gave me freely some 8-10 years ago when I was training. I also will go on record as saying that working Rikki Regal is one of the funnest things I have done in a wrestling ring. You always made me laugh and I always had fun. That, on the indies where none of are getting rich, is VERY important in my book. Might I further add I TRUSTED Rikki in the ring, which is something I can't say of a lot of the so called "workers" I've been in the ring with. But like I said, I'm just a jabroni, so no one may agree with my opinion, but that's it, for what it's worth. Later...

That wasn't a flame bro. I was just caught off guard at how Rick is advertised as a "legend". Don't be a pussy. Laughing Feel free to post here anytime you want. And if you don't want to....then fuck you.

Don't get angry at me. I'm not trying to be a jerkoff. I was just laughing and remembering good times and funny shit about Rick Michaels. That's all.
I just don't appreciate you making a huge, generalized statement that "I figured out why indy promoters dont post on here"
You don't know what you're talking about.
WHO are all the indy promoters that don't post on here?
We are located in the upstate of South Carolina and generally talk about the wrestling scene in the southeast.
Unless there is some brand new promotion that I've not heard of yet...we pretty much have all the guys who run shows in the region post on here.
I'm not counting outlaw shows or backyard shows.
Back in the day...there would have only been ONE promoter in any given territory anyway. That's the way the business worked. You didn't run a show on somebody else's turf.
I know, I know....things are different today. But that still don't mean that there is some huge number of "indy promoters" running wildly sucessful shows in this area. There aren't.
I think Rikki Regal made it clear that this IS a place for you to post about upcoming shows.
And I don't want you to be gun shy about it either. Feel free to post anytime you want.
I may have caught you off guard with my comments about the use of the word "legend".
I apologize.
I don't blame you guys for working that angle at all. Matter of fact....I probably would bill it the same damn way! Why not? The name of the game is to put asses in the seats.
So I apologize for coming off like an asshole. Didn't mean to. Very Happy

Of course any and every Indy worker, promotion and promoter is welcome to post here, hell even my arch nemisis Thomas "T Dawg" Simpson posts here and if that doesn't speak volumns about my earnestness of wanting and welcoming any and ALL promotions to be represented here then nothing else I can think of will.

One word of advice though kk803; you might want to develope a thick skin if you plan to hang around here as we're all targets at one time or another, even I have taken my fair share of kicks to the balls, it's just the way we do things around here, nothing is meant by it, it's just friendly ball busting between guys who SHOULD be able to take it, I mean after all, we are all a bunch of wrestlers, remember? If that makes no sense to you then this might not be the place for you, but I welcome you anyway.

Rick is one of my oldest friends in this buisness and I'm sure even he would probably giggle a little about being called a "legend" unless you are talking about his legendary status as a full blown, card carrying, dressing in ring gear to watch a PPV, "action figure" playing with MIZARK!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think I used "Southeastern Indy Wrestling Legend." Terry Funk I consider a legend in any aspect of the business. Rick is a Southeastern Indy Wrestling Legend like Ace Darling and Cheetah Master are "New England Indy Wrestling Legends."

And like you said Boyette, thats smart advertising. Your first post caught me off guard but after your second post I could tell you were a good guy. You just have one of those straight up type personalities that I have come to appreciate.

Hopefully Im not treading on anyones territory. Im at least 50 miles from any other wrestling show. Im trying to bring wrestling to an area that is pretty much dead to indy wrestling. Im helpful for any advise you can give to help me put on the best show possible.

Again kk803, I apologize for coming off like a dick. I guess I have it in my hand so much that it has started to take over my personality! Laughing
Please feel free to come on here as often as you can and post about any upcoming shows and give us the results of the shows as well. Very Happy
