Here are some news and notes regarding TNA's ECW-themed PPV on August 8th:
- It appears that Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn is a lock to main event.
- Johnny Swinger is expected to appear on the show, possibly in a tag-team match with former partner Simon Diamond.
- There is interest in Justin Credible but nothing has been confirmed at this point.
- There is talk about airing sit-down interviews with former ECW stars in between matches.
- The pay for non-contracted wrestlers is said to be around $500-$1,000.
- It is also rumored that TNA will do some ECW-style house shows in markets where ECW was most popular. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.
I wish they'd just let ECW die. Hire Paul Heyman and write something NEW for a change. Tired of the re-hashed bullshit. _________________ 2 rules of life:

I agree, WWE had ECW and they changed it into this horrible thing called WWE style show, but with an ECW name on it. Now they got that abortion show NXT. And oh my God, dont get me started on the Nexus. Wasnt that the name of the ribbon of time blazing through space in Star Trek: Generations? The only thing that could save all of this? Lance Storm posted a message on his website to state that he will not take part in the TNA Hardcore Justice pay-per-view. "I think it was big of them to extend me the offer, considering my general opinion of the TNA product, and want to I thank them for that, but I will not be taking part," Storm wrote.
"I feel it would be hypocritical of me to work the show, considering my out outspoken views of the TNA product. I have a great deal of respect for the boys who will be working the show as well as the great workers on the TNA roster, but I have no desire to be a part of the TNA creative process. As for ECW, One Night Stand in 2005 was my farewell and am content in letting sleeping dogs lie." _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

According to prowrestling.net, there are plans to tape a special edition of TNA Impact the night after the Hardcore Justice PPV.
Essentially, the idea is that it will be a "free PPV" event. The working title is "The Whole Fn' Show" and all the matches will be PPV-quality with no storylines/skits. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.
There not thinking is what it is, its sad when a third rate wwe show in nxt draws just as good if not better ratings as impact. In my opinon the wwe product is alot better than tna, if you look at the attitude era when wrestling ruled the world, the wwe mid card matches were the drizzling shits, of course the main events with austin, rock, hhh foley and all were awesome but bossman vs. bluedust just seemed a little shitty lol, not alot of the midcard work was any good, if you look at the work rate now overall in wwe, it is alot better, there is more wrestling compared, the workers are better in my opinon, they just lack the star power taht a rock and austin was, even with cena they still lack it. Just my opinon.

"EV2.0" or "Extreme Version 2.0" will be the new name for TNA's version of ECW. The name was an Eric Bischoff idea. Apparently, Tommy Dreamer tried to get fans to chant the new name at the TNA Impact taping on Monday night but things didn't work out too well. The idea is that TNA doesn't want fans chanting the "ECW" initials in case WWE decides to take legal action against them.
- In regards to WWE taking legal action against TNA, the word is WWE probably won't do anything if there is even a chance that they could lose a fight in court. TNA is allowed to use the name "ECW" in a past tense as long as they don't promote their PPV as an ECW event. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

TNA wrestlers filmed promos on Tuesday night that will air during the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view. The wrestlers talk about "what the hardcore originals meant to them." Some videos were also filmed that have the former ECW stars paying tribute to Joey Styles and Paul Heyman.
The videos were done as a way to create a nostalgic feel for Hardcore Justice and offer more than just the matches. There is some concerns over how well the former ECW stars will be able to deliver in the ring. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

Former ECW World champion Mikey Whipwreck commented on his Facebook page about the TNA Hardcore Justice show:
"For the record, I have no intentions of doing the TNA PPV. I'm happy for the guys that are doing it but its nice to see the little bingo hall company everyone 'blew off' back in the day as 'insignificant' is called upon every time business is in the toilet." _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

Despite being used in a promo video by TNA, Shane Douglas will not be appearing at TNA's Hardcore Justice pay-per-view, unless something changes. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

Damn! And I SO wanted to see him wrestle!
LOL!
Am I the only one who never thought he was very good? I partied with him and Johnny Ace at Charlie McGruders in Atlanta a few times when they and the rest of the WCW crew would come in every night to see my band play.
They were the "Dynamic Dudes" back then.
He sucked then as a wrestler and promo guy.
And then as "Dean Douglas" in WWF he sucked again.
I mean, he was a decent worker/jobber/midcard. But he never seemed to have that special "it" factor to me.
I was surprised in the early 1990's when I read the big controversy of him throwing the NWA belt down and declaring himself the ECW champion instead.
But like most folks...I wasn't able to get any of that on television. And I never saw him when he was in ECW...again because it wasn't available in many markets.
I DID see him when TNA first started and he was wrestling.
And he sucked, just like he used to.
So I guess that a few hundred people who actually saw his supposed "great" matches in ECW are convinced that he somehow had a few years where he became real good...
...Before he went back to sucking. _________________ -Porn Star Robbie Boyette

TNA has quietly removed Balls Mahoney's name from the list of ECW Originals confirmed for the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view. Mahoney was announced after iMPACT this past Thursday but was removed from the list some time this weekend. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

I never got to see his feud with Tazz. All the info I got on ECW back in the mid 1990's was what I would read in the mark mags like Pro Wrestling Illustrated. And then when the internet started I heard all these great things.
And then I bought the ECW DVD that came out a few years ago...
After watching the matches, I came to the conclusion that the actual wrestling in the ring wasn't that good. Neither were the promos. BUT...there was a certain "something" about it at THAT time and THAT place where all the planets aligned or something.
I think if you watch that DVD you'll see what I'm saying. It's sort of remembered perhaps a little better than what it really was. _________________ -Porn Star Robbie Boyette
the thing i liked about tazz was he was a fiesty mean s.o.b. Douglas built that feud with a real slow burn. tazz beat shane in under 3 minutes for his belt. but shane lost very little heat. I marked for it at 40 years old.. It was lightning in a bottle...never to be reproduced..therefore i'll pass on this ppv. i'll stick to my old ecw dvds.

Former ECW performer Francine Fournier, 38, has declined TNA Wrestling’s invitation to appear at Sunday’s Hardcore Justice.
Following her unceremonious departure from World Wrestling Entertainment in October 2006, Fournier imminently announced her retirement from the professional wrestling industry. Since that time “The Queen of Extreme” has maintained her retirement, though last year she held an ECW reunion show with proceeds from the event donated to the American Cancer Society. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.

TNA Wrestling is using Atlas Security to handle security for Sunday’s Hardcore Justice pay-per-view event. Posted: Fri Aug 06, 2010 7:28 pm Post subject: WWE LAWYER SPEAKS ON HARDCORE JUSTICE
Alfonso A. Castillo sent out the following regarding WWE Lawyer Jerry McDevitt’s comments on possible violations between TNA Wrestling and WWE, leading into this Sunday’s TNA Hardcore Justice PPV:
I just posted the following on Newsday’s Steel Cage wrestling blog at Newsday.com/steelcage
I reached out earlier to World Wrestling Entertainment attorney Jerry McDevitt to ask if WWE had already, or was considering, taking legal action against Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for TNA’s promoting of this Sunday’s “Hardcore Justice” pay per view.
The event is being hyped, in effect, as an ECW reunion, despite WWE owning the rights to the ECW name and intellectual property.
I received this reponse from McDevitt:
“The WWE is the sole owner of the ECW marks, and as with all of WWE’s intellectual property it will be vigorously protected. TNA acts at its peril if its infringes upon WWE’s rights.”
That can be taken to mean many things, but this much is apparent: TNA’s questionable usage of the ECW brand is on WWE’s legal radar. TNA could argue semantics and claim that they are not promoting an ECW reunion as much as a hardcore wrestling reunion, but that’s intellectually dishonest, at best.
TNA has done itself no favors by mentioning the E-C-W letters more than once on television in recent weeks, and featuring photos of past ECW events (photos presumably not owned by WWE.)
TNA President Dixie Carter may be excited about the buzz and small uptick in ratings that the “Hardcore Justice” concept has created. But you have to wonder how quickly that excitement will turn into terror if she is served with cease and desist papers hours before the pay per view is supposed to go live. _________________ Everybody is a book of blood; wherever we're opened, we're red.
